Wonderful post, I must say and it took me some time to fully grasp the feelings behind it. I resisted spontaneous commenting and took some time in digesting the post.

Happiness, if one were to dissect, as if it were some laboratory subject, then it can be labelled anything. It can be state of mind, or reality or just illusion. Depending on what is happening in your life at that time of dissection, you will choose the label.

People, events and objects in our life, do seem to have effect on this feeling 'happy'. However, the elders of our society from yesteryears always said, you are indeed creator of your own life. You decide what quality you want to live. The problem though begins when the thin boundaries are ignored. Happy we were born and happy we should remain. When we start expecting and waiting for outside elements to make us happy, the trouble begins.

Indeed you cannot separate person in your life. Particularly those who make your life. Your partners, children, pets, friends, colleagues and the lot. The key is not to get stuck with them. As you are independent and have a very unique characteristics, so do they. Enjoy those moments when they bring some happiness in your life and then move on. If you start expecting that they will continue bringing you happiness, I say is not fair. Let them have their own space. They made you happy by being themselves. So let them be. Putting a constraint on them to keep making you happy and when it does not happen, you get more sad, is the worst thing you can do. Find that Joy in seeing that they are happy, the way they are. Trust me this will bring more happiness.

Do live every moment, every relationship and every trivial drama that comes with it. However, the key to true happiness is not letting this bog you down. Experience the ride and move on. Participate, feel and then get out of it. Don't get engaged in the drama. You will miss all the Joy and Happiness that Universe has to offer to you.

If happiness were to be reactions to someone actions, then it won't last long. However, I do see such actions as trigger points to bring in something that can lead to happiness. Happiness is something that I cannot give, if I don't have. It goes beyond. Happiness is contagious. It spreads. That is what I like about this site as it talks about making your self happy first. Rest is automatic. If you are unable to make yourself happy and you need to depend on other people to make you happy, then stop. Take a few moments, and reflect upon yourself. Where have you lost that song? Where is that Divine dance that is yours? Why have you made yourself so miserable? No one else is to be blamed but you for lack of Happiness in your life.

Simple things like balanced health, clarity of mind, knowing the purpose of your life, tackling your emotions, helping others, laughing with children, dancing in the rain, singing in the toilet ... all this, ultimately leads to your Happiness. Osho has said in one of his talks, Happiness 'happens'. You cannot pursue it. Only thing you can do is be aware and concious about it. You will see, slowly and gradually that more and more moments of your life are filled with ecstasy and joy. See even the word 'happiness' is made from 'happen'.

No human, is capable of making you happy. Only you can make yourself happy. Finally, don't even think that you can make anyone happy, especially when you are not. Become so Happy yourself that everyone around instantly is affected by your radiation. That is best thing you can do. Live YOUR life.

PS: keep posting more interesting stuff like this. I am sure many will benefit from it.
